Discussion paper
In our discussion paper, Financial Literacy in Schools, released on 30 June 2003, we examined the existing levels of financial literacy teaching in Australian secondary schools and presented options for improving those levels.

Adult financial literacy research
It is equally important that financial education programs are available for adult consumers. Research, such as the ANZ Bank's national surveys of adult financial literacy, released in May 2003 and November 2005, show that not everyone has the skills necessary to manage their financial situation and look after their money. ASIC's work on financial literacy aims to address the needs of the whole community for educational programs and tools.
